As of October 1, 2027, residential building inspectors who carry out inspections for a real estate transaction (pre-purchase)will be required to hold a certificate issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) to carry out their duties in Quebec. The regulation governing the supervision of residential building inspectors for inspections related to real estate transactions (REIBH) requires certified inspectors to hold a certificate and comply with the standard BNQ 3009-500.
